Personal Progress Ideas

I've been newly called to be the Personal Progress coordinator in my ward. Have you heard of that before? It's the first time for me. I'm really excited about it though because I still get to travel to the other wards and branches with Keith on Sunday, but be in Young Womens too. Is that the best of both worlds or what?

I've been trying to brainstorm some ideas on how to get the girls in our ward excited about doing their PP. I've been toying with all sorts of ideas, everything from flow charts to bribery. I know a lot of you are very creative and have had a lot more experience with this sort of thing than I have... If you have any great ideas on how to get teenage girls enthused about doing their PP please share.

We had a PP leader that had a stuffed Frog named Francois and he went home with one of the girls each week to be the reminder for them to work on something and report back the next Sunday. Everyone who worked on anything during the week put their name in a basket and then there was a drawing for a candy bar each Sunday. They also had PP parties in which everyone dressed in whatever started with P (pink, peach, pj's etc) and they ate P foods (pizza, popcorn, pastries etc) while they reviewed the goals etc and signed stuff off. those are the things I can remember right off. Have fun with it.

www.sugardoodle.net

This is an awesome website for any church calling. I have also used some of Jenny Phillips dowloads from her website for YW or RS but not sure if she has anything for PP? For sure try sugardoodle, I know there are ideas on there. ;)

Candy! If there is anything that gets the girls in our ward going it's treats. Our PP leader has a jar that she fills with candy and anyone who has something to pass off on Sunday gets to share what they did and then pick something out of the jar. She also really stays on top of the girls and has a one on one with each of them every so often just to see where they are at and what they need help with. What a fun calling.

What is Keith's calling that you travel? We had an awesome PP Coordinator in my last ward. She was in charge of one activity a month for all of the YW and they basically passed off something that night. They would have to do about two other things on their own but it got them moving on it. That is a fun calling!
